Weighed myself today - it's my weekly check in. I'm down to 190.6 lbs... I can't remember my start off weight, but it was at least 5lbs heavier than that. So that's good. I can see results.
That said, I'm a long way from Jen and Ren's 6-pack.
Psyched to be at home all this week, which means the eating thing is going to be a lot easier to manage. That said, it's also a lot tougher diet than I've EVER done before. Dinner feels ... extreme. Egg whites and some fruit. (Do I cook the egg whites? Drink them raw? Something else). And it's Canadian Thanksgiving today, so there is a LOT of good food on offer...
personally, i drink the egg whites raw with milk. just whip 'em up. i got awfully tired of boiled egg whites and this is a nice way to disguise them. also, frozen bananas blended with yogurt and egg white is fantastically yummy. i have a smoothie every night for dessert with various different fruits for flavor but always frozen bananas and yogurt as a base.
ReplyDeleteat least you spend less money on food. my diet right now requires a lot more money on food. my body just really burns through it fast. i'd almost rather a simple fruit smoothie for dinner.
you could easily toss fruit, egg whites, and milk into the blender with some yogurt for dinner and make a nice little fruit smoothie. sure it won't be the usually texture or consistency one would be used to but hell we are exploring textures and flavors with our adapting tongues so might as well get used to it now! :)
ReplyDeleteanother way to cook eggwhites: boil water in a small pan, spin the water around with a fork or something until you have a nice vortex going, then dribble the eggwhites in. They will cook almost immediately on contact with the boiling water and the corkscrewing movement will twist them into cool shapes.
ReplyDeleteCalorically you're still getting the same amount of food as you used to, it's just been shipped to the morning and lunch meals. Bear with it, the egg white dinner is just for a few weeks. The fat melting off you will make it feel worth it!
ReplyDeleteThese are all great suggestions - thank you one and all.
